The Distance Credentialed Facilitator (DCF) Online Training Program

The IAPES Foundation has partnered with ReadyMinds to offer the Distance Credentialed Facilitator (DCF) Online Training Program to IAWP members. ReadyMinds is a nationally recognized career counseling training organization and the sole provider of this online training program. The DCF Training Program will educate and train professionals so they become qualified to earn their DCF Credential from the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE), Inc., an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors--the largest counselor/facilitator certification organization in the world. Recognizing the increasing use of telephones, video, e-mail, e-chat and websites for work with customers, CCE established a new credential program based on distance facilitation methodologies. Some of the advantages to the online training and obtaining the DCF credential are:
• Establishes that IAWP members are adhering to and using the best professional practices and ethical standards related to distance facilitation in providing employment and career facilitation services;
• Enhances the credibility of the agency or institution;
• Enables the IAWP member and their organization to reach customers in a more professional manner;
• Provides a basis to develop and implement effective distance service delivery programs; and
• Connects agencies and practitioners with networks and resources related to distance delivery.
The result is the application of best practices and ethical standards for the profession both in face-to-face and in distance situations. The online training program is self-paced, available on a 24/7 basis, averages approximately 40 focused hours to complete, and allows a one-year time frame for completion. At the conclusion of each module, there is a multiple choice assessment requiring 75% or better as passing and may be retaken as needed. This agreement between the Foundation and ReadyMinds is a win-win for IAWP:
✔ Each time an IAWP member enrolls in the training, the Foundation will receive a monetary donation;
✔ Upon successful completion, trainees receive a certificate of completion;
✔ The training supports the continuing education requirement certification (40 contact hours) offered by IAWP; and
✔ The training provides members with an opportunity to gain skills in the workforce development field.
The cost of registration for the online training is $395 and includes all related training materials. To register or get more information, go to the DCF website or call ReadyMinds at 888.225.8248 for payment arrangements if your organization is going to pay for the training. Be sure to tell them you are an IAWP member. To learn more about the DCF credential, please visit www.cce-global.org or contact CCE at 336.482.2856.
