Resources for Starting a New Chapter - IntroductionIAWP, founded in 1913, is a professional, educational association for anyone interested in workforce development. IAWP is dedicated to improving Workforce Systems and to the development of professionals engaged in such activities. It is not a trade union and does not engage in collective bargaining or political activities. The association has great experience in the planning and production of seminars, workshops, and institutes focused on the needs of workforce development professionals. The association seeks to contribute to the advancement of peace, goodwill and world fellowship among persons engaged in workforce development. Education, Advancement, Communication, and Leadership Potential are the major focuses of the association's programs and efforts. This handbook presents guidelines to workforce development personnel in non-U.S. countries for the formation of a chapter with affiliate status in IAWP.
