2007 Group Specialized Customer Services Award

The Specialized Customer Services award recognizes individuals and groups who provide outstanding, innovative programs of awareness within the workforce system.  This award includes, but is not limited to, vocational rehabilitation, welfare-to-work, people with disabilities and youth.

The 2007 Specialized Customer Services Group Award winner is a program funded by the National Emergency Grant and designed to create pathways toward re-employment for Military Spouses and Department of Defense Civilians. Standing firm on the belief in the sacrifices made by military spouses and the needs created by those sacrifices, the program provides individual counseling to each applicant. Many military spouses experience underemployment or jobs that do not coincide with their training and skills.  The program provides assistance for these military spouses by partnering with local community colleges, training providers, and employers.  Partnering with other state agencies allows these clients additional job opportunities.  By reaching out to these specialized customers this program exemplifies professional excellence.  IAWP is pleased to announce the 2007 Specialized Customer Services Group Award winner is the Transition Service Program, North Carolina.
