2007 Individual International Development Award

The International Development Award recognizes an individual/group and chapter's outstanding commitments to and achievements in IAWP's international development. The International Development Award also recognizes chapter activities in this area.

Demonstrating professional excellence has been a career goal of this 2007 Individual International Development Award winner.  Serving as International Development Chair only accelerated that desire. It began earlier than the award year, when this nominee began the International IAWP Pen Pal program in 2003. He has maintained e-mail relationships with members in Japan, the Republic of Korea, Lithuania, Ireland, Germany, France, Latvia, Sierra Leone, Ukraine and Mexico.  He served as Local Arrangements Committee liaison to International Development Committee at the Boise 2007 conference by planning numerous educational and cultural events for the international attendees. In October 2007 in conjunction with the IAWP Board of Directors meeting held in Richmond, he traveled to Washington, DC, to visit eight international embassies to promote IAWP objectives and the International Development program.

It gives me great pleasure to present the 2007 Individual International Development Award to David Washburn, Idaho Chapter.
